Broken Office of the Prime Minister Website
The recent NEMAC security breach during the meeting on January 19th 2021 showed clearly the importance of cybersecurity. The lack of attention to such matters can be seen with Saint Lucia’s Office of Prime Minister Website which is supposed to be http://opm.govt.lc/ but has been Under Construction for years. How is this government going to help build Saint Lucia if they are unable to build a secure, functional Office of the Prime Minister website? This broken website is linked from multiple critical locations:

· Office of Prime Minister LinkedIn page.

Why is this critical webpage still “Under Construction” 4.5 years into this administration? A proper web presence is required for any government and this is even more critical in the current COVID-19 era. The Office of Prime Minister page has been non-functional for multiple years and there is no indication of when it will be functional. Why has the government not prioritized their Office of the Prime Minister website?
OPM website does not even use secure connection. This results in all modern browsers indicating it as “Not Secure” “Your Connection to this site is Not Secure.” In 2021, you would expect all websites to use HTTPS. The use of HTTPS would help protect the integrity of your website and also protects the privacy and security of your users. There are numerous free services that allow you to have deploy HTTPS such as Let’s Encrypt.

This administration apparently appears to have created a separate website to serve as the Office of the Prime Minister. While the text on the home page indicates “Welcome to the Official Website of The Office of the Prime Minister” the URL does not appear to be linked to from the main government website, Facebook, LinkedIn.
This new website appears to also be incomplete as this is the current Biography page.
Can anyone decipher what the current Prime Minister is trying to say about his early life? When is this page planned to be completed?
